She Wants Revenge - Tear Her Apart (single)
With the intro sounding like the distant rumbling of a train rolling over the tracks meshing with a 70s disco beat, She Wants Revenge release their new single 'Tear You Apart' and its a bit of a stormer.
The duo from San Fernando Valley in America have created a dark paranoid version that could see themselves as the true heirs to the crown of Interpol in their abscence and in just one single have bloodied The Editors and pushed them to the kerb.
The dark bass line prowls throughout and the atmsopheric electronic fills hum around building a sense of foreboding that is ultimately topped off by the vocals, a chilling and evil intoning darkness and fear. As the track picks up momentum towards the chorus, the vocals gather in pace but dont become any friendlier.
Its the sort of track the cool kids would secretly cream themselves over whilst publicly passing with a faint indifference. With a UK tour just finishing off, the act dont appear to be bound for Brighton again anytime soon but the single is well worth checking out and She Wants Revenge should be kept on your radar.
With a Hotel Persona remix of the track available and adding a bit more urgency whilst retaining the same dark edge, this single was a pleasant surprise and will certainly be finding its way onto a few future playlists.
